...Icy Spots on area roads may develop late Tonight and early Thursday... An approaching upper level trough of low pressure as well as increasing low clouds and fog later tonight may lead to light freezing drizzle, light freezing rain, or light snow mainly for areas on the Caprock late tonight and early Thursday. Temperatures overnight are expected to be in the 20s, cold enough that any precipitation that develops could lead to icy spots on area roads. There also is a small risk for a narrow but concentrated band of snow or freezing rain in the southwestern South Plains early Thursday that could lead to light accumulations. Stay tuned to forecast updates overnight and be alert to any icy spots that do form.
